  1. Lovely!
Pretty confusing with the Red-crowned Crane (Grus japonensis).
I would love to lay my hands on your camera :-) Seems very powerful.

  2. Dear Tongyal and Yeshey,
I guess it is coupled with camera and the photographic skills that Yeshey possesses leading to such wonders.
I would love to hear on your camera, if you do not mind sharing.
    Cheers.

  3. Hi Tongyal,

Yea the lens used was a 500mm f/4 but also bit of luck was involved to have been able to approach the crane so close.

Sangay, the camera that shot the image (BNC) is as follows:

    Body : Canon 10D
Lens : Canon EF 500mm f/4 IS USM
    Tripod: Gitzo
    Tripod Head: Wimberley Gimble
    CF Card: SanDisk Extreme 4GB

    I am now using:

    Body : Canon 50D
    Lens : Canon 800mm f/5.6 IS USM
    Tripod : Gitzo
    Tripod Head : Wimberley Gimble
CF Card : SanDisk 8GB Extreme
